Failure to observe this warning could result In severe personal injuryor death.1.Remove unit hood assembly (1, figure 5-54) as instructed in paragraph 4.14.2.Remove battery set (12) as instructed in paragraph 4.74.3.Remove air filter housing and piping (11) as instructed in paragraph 5.27.4.Remove rubber seal (5), four nuts (10), four serrated lock washers (9). four washers (8) from lower part (7) ofpartition (4).5. Remove upper part of partition (4).6.Remove control cabinet unit (2) as instructed in paragraph 4.43.7.Hook lifting device into lifting lug (16) on synchronous generator (14) and into lifting lug (15) on intermediate flange(13) and lift until there is no slack in cables.8.Support diesel engine (3) at flywheel housing (28) with suitable support (22 to 24).9. Remove two bolts (17). two serrated lock washers (18) and two washers (19) from synchronous generatormounting (21).10.Remove eight bolts (27), serrated lock washers (26) and washers (25) from intermediate flange (13) and flywheelhousing (28).11. Remove synchronous generator (14) from diesel engine (3) by installing bolts (29) in housing of intermediateflange (13) and tightening both sides gently.12.Remove bolts (29) and lift synchronous generator (14) off shock absorbers (20) and place on mounting blocks.5-230Change 1
