It containstwo control panels, the engine control panel, and thegenerator control panel. These instruments, and otherequipment necessary to start, operate, and monitor thegenerator set. The control cubicle is removable fromthe generator set as a single unit.WARNINGBEFORE STARTING ANYMAINTENANCE PROCEDURE, SETMAINTENANCE LOCKOUT SWITCH TOLOCKOUT. DISCONNECT NEGATIVECABLE FROM BATTERIES. REMOVEEXTERNAL POWER BY OPENINGCB101 (EXTERNAL POWER CIRCUITBREAKER) AND DISCONNECTINGPOWER CABLE FROM RECEPTACLEJ101 (120V RECEPTACLE).5-2. TRANSDUCERS A103, A107, AND A108.Transducer A103 is mounted on the rear panel of thecontrol cubicle enclosure (31, figure 5-1, sheet 1).Transducers A107 and A108 (thermal watt converters,82, figure 5-1, sheet 2) are mounted at the base of thecontrol cubicle.a.Testing.(1)Remove transducers A107 and A108according to paragraph 5-2 b and testas follows:WARNINGHIGH VOLTAGES PRESENT DURING TEST.DEATHOR SEVERE BURNS MAY RESULT IFPERSONNEL FAIL PRECAUTIONS(a)Connect transducer (eitherA107 or A108) as shown infigure 5-2, using test equipmentas shown.(b)Adjust T1, T2, and T3 to theirminimum position, fully counter-clockwise.(c)Close S1 and open S2 and S3.(d)Energize 120/208V AC. 3-phase, 4 wire, 60 Hz powersource.(e)Adjust T1 until 0.7 ampere isindicated on ammeter A1. Atthis point, the percentage ofRATING METER shall indicate33 percent.(f)With S1 closed, close switchS2, and adjust T2 until 0.7ampere is indicated onammeter A2. The percentageof RATING METER shallindicate 66 percent.(g)With S1 and S2 closed, closeS3. Adjust T3 until 0.7 ampereis indicated on ammeter A3.The percentage of RATINGMETER shall indicate 100percent.(h)If requirements of steps (e), (f),and (g) are not met, replace thetransducers.(2)Transducers A103. This transducerand generator set frequency meterare a matched set, and must betested as a set. Refer to theOperator/Crew and Organizationallevel Maintenance manual andremove frequency meter from thegenerator panel of the control cubicle.(a)Connect a test setup as shownin figure 5-3.(b)Vary the frequency from lowestscale reading to full scalereading at 120 volts and atfrequencies between 48 and 53Hz, the generator set metershall read within 1 percent ofthe generated frequency (to theleft); at 120 volts and atfrequencies5-1
