Mount the base of a dial indicator on the flywheel and position the finger of the indicator on the machined surface of the flywheel housing (bellhousing) which bolts to the generator adapter. (See figure 11-8.) Set the dial indicator to zero. Turn the engine through one complete revolution. Total indicator reading should not exceed 0.006 inch (0.15 mm). If reading exceeds the allowable limit, excessive vibration could result. 11-14
