TM 9-6115-659-13&Pe.f.Remove the container adapter (3) from the accessory storage box. If disassembled, remove allcomponents. The components are the assembled clamp and head (5 and 6), a fuel pickup tube(7), and an extension pipe (8). The extension pipe is not needed if the external fuel source is a5-gallon fuel can (2).NOTEMake sure that all components are clean.Thread the fuel pickup tube (7) into the head (6). If the external fuel source is a 55-galloncontainer, thread the extension pipe (8) onto the fiel pickup tube (7).Remove the auxiliary fuel hose (4) from its storage location. It is stored in a compartmentbelow the generatar set control panel, behind the bottom-right access door.Thread one end of the auxiliary fuel hose (4) onto the fitting on the container adapter (3).Tighten the connection.Connect the free end of the auxiliary fuel hose (4) to the generator set external fuel supplyconnection (l). The connection is located beside the generator set fuel tank filler neck. Tightenthe connection.The fuels in this generator set are highly explosive. Do not smoke or useopen flames when performing maintenance. Flames and explosion couldresult in severe personal injury or death.Insert the container adapter (3) into the external fuel source (2). Secure the container adapterby pressing down on the handle of the clamp (5).Never attempt to start the generator set if it is not properly grounded.Failure to observe this warning could result in severe personal injury ordeath by electrocution.2-3.3 Grounding ofGeneratorSet.
