Do not file or stone the end gap on chrome plated rings If the end gap Is below minimum specifications, select fit a new ring. (a) Check the end gap (Figure 9-30) of new piston rings in accordance with step (1 4)(d), above. If necessary, select fit new rings to achieve the proper end gap. 9-55
