(1) Removal.
(a) Remove protective cover (Figure 5-4).
(b) Tag and disconnect electrical lead to igniter assembly.
(c) Remove assembly from heater assembly.
(2) Cleaning, Inspection, and Testing.

Clean igniter assembly in an approved solvent and dry thoroughly.
Visually inspect igniter assembly for shorted or broken coil, cracks, corrosion, stripped or dam-
aged terminal threads or other damage.
Using an ohmmeter, check resistance between igniter casing and terminal. Resistance shall be two
ohms.
Ground igniter assembly casing and apply 24 Vdc to terminal. Igniter coil should heat to bright
red color in a few seconds.
Replace igniter assembly if it fails either inspection or test.
(3) Installation.
(a) Install assembly into heater assembly (Figure 5-4).
(b) Connect electrical lead to igniter assembly.
(c) Install protective cover.

Terminal Board Assembly.
(1) Remove protective cover (Figure 5-4).
(2) Visually inspect terminal board assembly for insecure mounting, loose electrical connections,
stripped or otherwise damaged threads, cracks, corrosion, and burns or other damage.
(3) Install protective cover.

Limit Switch.

Remove protective rover (Figure 5-4).
Visually inspect limit switch for cracks, corrosion and evidence of shorting or other damage.
Tag and disconnect electrical leads to switch.
Using a multimeter or similar device, check switch for continuity.
Reconnect electrical leads to switch.
Install protective cover.
If limit switch failed continuity test, report to higher level maintenance.
