ohmmeter, with the R x 10,000 scale selected, topins Z and Y of receptacle J1.( b ) With the positive lead connected to pinY and the negative lead to pin Z, the ammeter willread approximately 6 amperes up scale.( c ) Reverse the connections at receptacleJ1 so that the positive lead is connected to pin Z andthe negative lead is connected to pin Y.( d ) The ammeter will read approximately6 amperes down scale.( e ) Disconnect the ohmmeter and test leads.(13) Voltage adjusting rheostat test( a ) Connect a Simpson 260 or equivalentohmmeter; with the R x 100 scale selected, acrosspins small z and large U of receptacle J1.( b ) Place the VOLTAGE SENSING switchto the LOCAL position.( c ) Rotate the VOLTAGE ADJUST rheostatfrom stop to stop, the resistance will vary from 0to 250 + 10 percent ohms,( d ) Rotate the VOLTAGE ADJUST rheostatuntil 125 ohms are indicated on the ohmmeter anddisconnect the test leads.(14) Frequency adjust rheostat test( a ) Connect a Simpson 260 or equivalentohmmeter; with the R x 100 scale selected, acrosspins N and T of receptacle Jl. The resistance in-dicated should be 500 ohms ± 10 percent.( b ) Remove the test lead from pin T andplace it in pin M.( c ) Rotate the FREQUENCY ADJUST rheo-stat from stop to stop, the resistance should varyfrom 0 to 500 ± 10 percent ohms.c.
