This manual contains instructions forintermediate (field) (direct support and general support)and depot maintenance personnel maintaining the 500KW Diesel Engine Driven Generator Set. The unit is a50/60 Hertz, (Mode I) Tactical Utility (Type I, Class 2A)Set and maintained as authorized by the MaintenanceAllocation Chart (MAC). It provides information on themaintenance of the equipment which is beyond thescope of the tools, equipment, personnel, or suppliesnormally available to the operator/crew andorganizational levels. Where the contents of referenceddocuments conflict with the contents of this manual, thecontents of this manual will be followed.1-2. LIMITED APPLICABILITY. Some portions of thispublication are not applicable to all services. Theseportions are prefixed to indicate the services to whichthey pertain: (A) for Army, (F) for Air Force, and (N) forNavy. Portions not prefixed are applicable to allservices.1-3. MAINTENANCE FORMS AND RECORDS.The forms and records used for maintenance purposesby the various services are specified as follows:a.(A) Maintenance forms and records used byArmy personnel are prescribed by DA PAM738-750.b.(F) Maintenance forms and records used byAir Force personnel are prescribed in AFM-66-1 and the applicable 00-20 SeriesTechnical Orders.c.(N) Navy users should refer to their servicepeculiar directives to determine applicablemaintenance forms and records to be used.1-4. REPORTING OF ERRORS. LEVELS OF MAINTENANCE ACCOMPLISHMENT.The authorized maintenance and repair functions will beaccomplished as follows:a.(A, MC) Army and Marine Corps users shallrefer to the maintenance Allocation Chart(MAC) for tasks and levels of maintenanceto be performed.b.(F) Air Force users shall accomplishmaintenance at the user level consistentwith their capability in accordance withpolicies established in AFM-66-1.c.(N) Navy users shall determine theirmaintenance levels in accordance with theirservice directives.Section II.
