TM 5-6115-593-12TO 35C2-3-463-1(3) If a break in the wire is inaccessible withinthe wiring harness, disconnect it at bothends and tape both ends. Lace a new leadof the same gauge and insulation outsidethe harness and connect it to the properterminals or pins. Properly tag both ends ofall replacement wires.d. Replacement.(1) Weather stripping. If weather stripping isdamaged, rotten or defective, remove bypeeling stripping off the panel or accessdoor. Lightly scrape metal to remove anypieces of stripping which remain. Installfresh weather stripping by removing backingfrom a small (six-inch) section of the newstripping and pressing into place. Peel offadditional backing as necessary, andcontinue to press stripping into place untilcompleted.NOTEDo not "patch" one section of stripping onany component panel. Replace the allweather stripping around any panel.(2) Harness assembly. If 30 percent of theharness wires are defective, refer to nexthigher level of maintenance forreplacement.Figure 5-4.
