Inspect fuel pumps (1) for dents or other phys-ical damage. Check for leaks especially around hoseassembly fittings (2). Check that fuel pumps are se-curelya t t a c h e d t o m o u n t i n g b r a c k e t ( 3 ) a n d t h a tmounting bracket is securely attached to bracket sup-port on skid-base. Inspect electrical leads to fuelpumps to see that wires and connectors are notb r o k e n , f r a y e d , o r d a m a g e d . C h e c k t h a t c o n n e c t o rsare tightly connected. Check that cap (4) on auxiliaryfuel pump inlet is securely in place when unit is notbeing run from auxiliary fuel supply.(4) Fuel Hoses. Inspect fuel hoses (2, 3 and 4,figure 3-13) for leaks or physical damage. Check tosee that fuel hose fittings are securely tightened inp l a c e .b. Inspectwiring harness for broken or frayed wires. Check for wires withdamaged or deteriorated insulation. Check that all connectors andterminals are clean and tight.(3) Speed Control Assembly (see figure 3-16). On ASKequipped generators, lift motor speed control flap. Inspect to seethat speed control is firmly attached to unit. Check that speedcontrol moves in and out freely. If speed control is loose, refer tohigher level maintenance.3-20C h a n g e 8
