Inspect all parts for signs of chipping, cracking,
and/or excessive wear. Replace as required.
14-23. Tachometer Drive and Adapter Reassembly
and Installation.
See figure 14-8 and proceed as follows:
a. Reassemble shaft, retaining ring, retaining
bushing, bushing and housing as shown.
b. Reassemble bushing and thrust washer by
ME 6115-545-34/14-8 C1
means of a small press. Refit gear to shaft.
c. Coat housing and preformed packing with
film of light engine oil. Refit preformed packing.
d. Hold tachometer drive vertical and insert down
into engine.
e. Install clamp (tightening action of screw will
seal tachometer drive in engine).
f. Refer to Operator and Organizational Main-
tenance Manual and install speed switch.
