supply tank then runs it through a filter and
delivers it, under pressure, to the individual
cam-operated injectors of each cylinder.
The fuel injectors receive fuel from the
pump under pressure, meter a small portion
of it, and then inject it into the combustion
chambers in the form of fine spray. Engine
speed regulation is accomplished by a
hydraulic actuator which is mechanically
linked to the fuel injection pump. The
actuator, in turn, is controlled by governor
controller A106 which senses engine speed
by means of a magnetic pickup. Any time
engine speed varies, A106 outputs a control
voltage to the actuator. The actuator, in
response, affects the rate of fuel output
from
the
fuel
injection
pump.
